Hello, I’m Janice Campos — a longtime Albuquerque educator with over 25 years of experience teaching elementary, middle school, and Algebra 1.

I created The Traveling Tutor to provide personalized academic support for students who need clarity, confidence, and consistent guidance.

As a teacher—and as a single mom—education has always been deeply personal to me. I had the opportunity to guide my own daughter through her academic journey, helping her build strong foundations, develop confidence, and navigate the path to college.

She graduated salutatorian with a 4.7 GPA, scored a 1430 on her SAT, and earned a full-ride scholarship through the QuestBridge National College Match to attend Davidson College.

While I’m incredibly proud of her accomplishments, what matters most to me is how she got there—through consistency, encouragement, and truly understanding the material.

That same approach is what I bring to the students I work with.

I specialize in:

• Developing deep conceptual understanding in Algebra 1
• Supporting study skills, organization, and confidence

Throughout my career in public education, I have worked with a wide range of learners and families. I understand the academic expectations students face at every stage, and I believe learning should feel structured, encouraging, and achievable—not overwhelming.
